Now it's time to create! To go with our lesson about vegetables in the library, Year 1 classes showed their fondness in creating their plant scrapbook. After reading Growing Vegetable Soup story by Lois Ehlert, Year 1 students were very excited in making their scrapbook about plants. We were discussing about planting activities and this cute book is for sharing about students’ understanding about growing vegetables. Students love talking about their drawing and sharing it to the class. At first, they had to cut out the paper and put some glue to make an “accordion” look scrapbook. We thought this may be a little difficult for some of my kids to cut the paper but in the end, they just did it very well. It was a great activity to have fun while students share their understanding about the lesson and at the same time it really made each student feel good about their creativity.
